Kronstedt Road - Reconstruction

Town Road Improvement Project (TRI)

The Town of Sigel will accept bids until 7:00 P.M. (CST) on Wednesday, June 3, 2026. Bids may be submitted by mail to TOWN OF SIGEL, c/o Dick Goodwin, 2788 Town Hall Rd, Wisconsin Rapids, WI  54495. Bids will be opened at the monthly meeting in the Town of Sigel Town Hall Building at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday June 3, 2026.

Kronstedt Road from CTH F to Lundberg Road (Approximately 1 mile) is a LRIP – Town Road Improvement Project. The project length of approximately 5,280 feet involves adding of 1 ¼” of crushed aggregate – 3 inches deep by 22 feet wide (1,540 TONS) on existing asphalt surface, pulverizing full asphalt depth, approximately (12,910 SY), grade and shape so base is crowned to a 2 percent from center line, compact, pave 1,500 tons of type 4MT 58-28s, 2 inches thick place in 1-2” lift 11 feet wide per lane, place 445 tons of compacted ¾” crushed aggregate for shoulder 2 foot wide by 5 inches deep with a shoulder machine and compacted with a smooth drum or pneumatic roller.

Work may begin on or after July 1, 2026, once the State/Municipal Agreement has been received, and all work is to be completed by September 25, 2026.  All work and materials shall be in accordance with Wisconsin Department of Transportation standard specifications for Highway and Structure Construction, 2026 Edition.
